Hi, I’m Evin
I believe that change happens when people draw on their own experiences and cultivate their strengths to learn how to become comfortable with themselves. This isn't always easy, and it requires a bit of risk taking. You may feel uncomfortable with the idea of confronting aspects of your life that aren't working well. When we are together, I want you to open up about your world as it is now and how you want it to improve. I will be there to hear you and understand what you have been going through with compassion and thoughtful curiosity to help uncover your strengths and bring a fresh perspective.
My interests and therapeutic style developed through working with high functioning men and women and helping them explore their actions in a place where it was safe to discuss their feelings and doubts without fear of retribution, shaming, or rejection. I worked with clients imparting skills to enhance resilience and encouraging growth.
I earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University Silver School of Social Work and am trained in and utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing, 12-step abstinence informed treatment, and harm reduction.
